ARTS AND HUMANITIES PATHWAY DIPLOMA

Graduation Requirements for a Diploma with an Emphasis in Arts and Humanities Careers (If an AP Course is not offered at the time a student needs, the student may apply to take the equivalent class at a college under the Concurrent Enrollment.)


English

4.66 Credits
Communications (1.0)  for classes of 2012 - 2014

Freshman English (1.0) for class of 2015 - 2016

American Literature (1.0) for class of 2013

Contemporary Voices: Sophomore English (1.0) for classes of 2014 - 2016

2.0 credits of additional English with .33 of formal composition, .33 of literature, and .33 of speech for the classes of 2013 - 2014.  (The course catalog indicates if a course fulfills this requirement.)

2.0 credits of additional English with .33 of American Literature, .33 of literature, .33 of formal composition, .33 of composition, and .33 of speech for classes of 2015-2016.   (The course catalog indicates if a course fulfills this requirement.)


Mathematics

Interdisciplinary

Interdisciplinary coursework as decided upon by parent, advisor and student. Yearbook or Producing the PawPrint is highly recommended to gain experience with graphic and photo software.


Advising

2.4 Credit

Total Credits – The student must earn at least 29.66 credits for this pathway diploma.

Shadowing – All students must complete 3 one-half day shadowing experiences. One experience must be in an Arts-related field.

Community Service – 50 hours must be logged to receive .33 credit.

Internship – 50 hours in an Arts-related field must be logged to receive .33 credit.

Pathway Exploration – Additional 50 hours in an Arts-related field must be logged to receive .33 credit. This may be completed through additional shadowing, community service, or internship. Evidence of participation in an instrumental, vocal or theatrical performance is required for the pathway with a performing arts emphasis and will count toward the 50 hours of Pathway Exploration.

Portfolio – A portfolio is required for this pathway diploma.

Senior Project – A senior project is required for this pathway diploma.
