BUSINESS PATHWAY DIPLOMA

Graduation Requirements for a Diploma with an Emphasis in Business Careers (If an AP Course is not offered at the time the student needs, the student may apply to take the equivalent class at a college under the Concurrent Enrollment.)
Skilled Level – Technical College or Community College Degree/Certificate
Professional Level – Four-year college/University Degree and beyond

PRE-PATHWAY COURSE WORK
Prior to entering the Business Pathway, students must complete Communications or Freshman English, Computer Applications, and Career Exploration. For the skilled pathway students also must have taken Cash and Consumer.

English	4.0 Credits Communications (1.0) for classes of 2012 - 2014 Freshman English (1.0) for class of 2015 - 2016 American Literature (1.0) for class of 2013 Contemporary Voices: Sophomore English (1.0) for classes of 2014 - 2016 2.0 credits of additional English with .33 of formal composition, .33 of literature, and .33 of speech for the classes of 2013 - 2014. (The course catalog indicates if a course fulfills this requirement.) 2.0 credits of additional English with .33 of American Literature, .33 of literature, .33 of formal composition, .33 of composition, and .33 of speech for classes of 2015-2016. (The course catalog indicates if a course fulfills this requirement.)
Mathematics	5.0 Credits SKILLED 4 years up to and including Algebra 2 or above and Accounting Honors	PROFESSIONAL 4 years up to and including Pre-Calculus or above and Accounting Honors
Social Studies	3.66 Credits American Government (.33) Geography (.66) American History or AP American History (1.0) World History or AP European History (1.0) .66 from Social Studies electives: Psychology (.33) Study of Cultures (.33) Current Events (.33) Introduction to Philosophy & Logic (.33) AP Human Geography (1.0)
Science	3.0 Credits Conceptual Physics (.33) Biology Concepts (.33) Earth Systems (.33) Additional 2.0 Science credit as decided upon by student, parent, and advisor. Students going to a four-year college should enroll in Chemistry and/or Physics.

Fine Arts	1.0 Credit At least 1 trimester (.33 credit) must be in visual arts.
World Language	2.0 Credits of the same language Students may enroll in a language of their choice. Students who plan to attend a four-year college should plan to take three years of the same language.
Wellness	.66 Credits Introduction to Wellness (.33) .33 PE class (The course catalog indicates if a class fulfills this requirement.)
Interdisciplinary	.66 Credits Law and Legal (.33) Additional .33 Interdisciplinary credit as decided upon by student, parent, and advisor.
Advising	2.4 Credits

Total Credits – The student must earn at least 29.4 credits for this pathway diploma.

Shadowing – All students must complete 3 one-half day shadowing experiences. One experience must be in a business-related field.

Community Service – 50 hours must be logged to receive .33 credit.

Internship – 50 hours in a business-related field must be logged to receive .33 credit.

Portfolio – A portfolio is required for this pathway diploma.

Senior Project – A senior project is required for this pathway diploma.
