WILHELM BIOGRAPHY
University Schools Drama Director, Pamela Wilhelm, has been teaching theatre for over ten years, having worked in Oklahoma City, for private schools and Union Colony Preparatory School, before coming to UH in 2004. Ms. Wilhelm graduated with honors from the University of Northern Colorado with a B.A. in secondary education and Theatre Arts. Besides directing many elementary aged programs for a private school in Greeley, Ms. Wilhelm has directed twenty-six high school productions within the past eight years. She also sponsors the active UH Thespian Troupe #3898, and teaches such classes as high school Creative Drama, Advanced Theatre Arts, and middle school Drama, Performing Arts and Health. Several of her UH students have gone on to become successful theatre professionals after graduation.
Scenery for UH productions is usually produced on Saturdays when the stage is accessible and not being used for rehearsals. It is created and built by students, under the direction of Rusty Wilhelm.
Rusty has served as the “Assistant Drama Coach,” of the UH Theatre Company since 2004, mainly as the Scenic Designer and Technical Director for University’s productions. He has been instrumental in turning the UH/Frontier auditorium into a working high school theatre and establishing a technical protocol for UH students. Rusty has a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Northern Colorado and a MFA in scenic design and technical theatre from the University of Oklahoma. He has designed scenery for theatre companies in Colorado, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. He was the technical director for the Lutcher Theatre civic center in Orange, Texas for five years before returning to Colorado to teach stagecraft and design for UNC’s Opera Theatre program. He currently owns Pneuline Supply Inc. and has a shop in Greeley that provides pneumatic materials for companies throughout the world. The Wilhelms have lived in Greeley since 1986, have been married for almost thirty-three years, and have four grown daughters.
