Terri Carver: I was born and raised in Denver. I attended neighborhood schools in Park Hill, for grades 1-8, and Machebeuf High School. I studied art in high school and shadowed several art teachers to prepare for art study in college. I attended the University of San Diego then transferred to Colorado State University with a major in Art History and a minor in English. I then went on to graduate school at the University of Northern Colorado in elementary education. I worked at UNC for 10 years then started teaching at University Schools in the 1-2 classrooms. In 2004, I took over the elementary/middle school art position.
I am a watercolor artist. I love painting landscapes and animals. One of my favorite spots to paint is in Estes Park. One of my art goals is to write and illustrate a children's book.

Joni Lissak: Ms. Lissak is a Colorado mountain girl, raised in the small town of Conifer. She grew up enjoying the outdoors with her family. Her passion for art developed in high school through magnificent teachers and a variety of art courses. She also ran cross-country and track all four years. In December 2008, Ms. Lissak graduated with honors from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Her Bachelors degree is in Art Education with an emphasis in painting. She is drawn to making art with her hands, weather it is creating two-dimensional works or physically manipulating materials. Some of her favorite artists are Frida Kahlo, Edvard Munch, and Eva Hesse. As a teacher she aims to give students an avenue of expression through art by guiding them through the fundamentals, letting them play, and explore differences. Her passions are books, coffee, and running.
