USPTO: Celebrate–Change–Contribute

The USPTO’s primary purpose is to facilitate communication among teachers, parents, and the school community. Its secondary purpose is to provide financial support for University Schools through grants to the teachers for the purchase of educational materials and equipment for classrooms or to the school for general projects.

Come Celebrate with the USPTO

It’s simple—when parents get involved, the students benefit. Show your child how much you care; come on out and celebrate your child’s endeavors!

Contribute your Time and Talents

We achieve our mission through fundraising efforts, and we need your help to pull it off. All it takes is 1–2 hours of your time—we promise! More volunteers means more support for our school community. Get in on all the action by volunteering your time to events such as our Fall Fundraiser, Spring Carnival, Scrapbooking Event, and Teacher Appreciation Week. And if you don’t fancy any of that, you can volunteer as a classroom liaison to help us maintain good communication.

The USPTO also wants to help you network your business! Promote your business by providing our pre-meeting snacks.

Silent Auction
We are in need of themed baskets for the silent auction at the carnival. Please contact your child's teacher if you would like to organize a silent auction basket. All proceeds earned from your basket will go toward to your student’s classroom!

Grant Money for Teachers
USPTO was able to open an additional spring grant process for teachers this year. Our board approved a $5,000 allotment of money to grant to teachers who wrote an application with a specific item or project in mind. We are very excited for teachers to be using additional funds from USPTO for creative and innovative ideas for their classrooms!

USPTO Bylaws
We are in the process of amending our current USPTO bylaws and will have a meeting solely for this purpose on April 18 at 6:00 p.m. This meeting will be to receive feedback on revisions or input. If you would like to have an old copy of our bylaws, they are on our University Schools website. Also, if you would like to see the proposed amendments and changes, please e-mail us.

Lastly, our current president, Stephanie Lucero, will be ending her term at the end of this school year. We thank her for her willingness to step in to this vacancy and serve as our president for the last two years! With that, we are currently accepting nominations and interest and would love to hear from you! If the position interests you, please e-mail us with any questions.
