Yearly Enrollment Lottery

Though student applications are accepted year-round at University Schools, to guarantee that new applications are included in the first round lottery in January, the application must be received at University Schools by the second Friday in December.

The lottery will begin in early January and continue through September. The first round of the lottery drawing begins with Kindergarten. Sibling and staff children’s applications are drawn first followed by general applications. Drawings are held in the administrative offices and are witnessed by a parent and board member.

All whose applications are drawn will be notified by mail and will be given ten business days to return completed paperwork.

Please remember to notify the school of any address/phone changes
Be sure to indicate if the child has other siblings in the lottery pool that need to be marked as “sibling”.

Kindergarten admission age information:

For school year 2008-09, a child must be 5 on or before August 1, 2008.
For school year 2009-10, a child must be 5 on or before July 1, 2009.
For school year 2010-11, and subsequent school years, a child must be 5 on or before June 1, 2010.
