USPTO: Celebrate–Change–Contribute

The USPTO’s primary purpose is to facilitate communication among teachers, parents, and the school community. Its secondary purpose is to provide financial support for University Schools through grants to the teachers for the purchase of educational materials and equipment for classrooms or to the school for general projects.

Come Celebrate with the USPTO

It’s simple—when parents get involved, the students benefit. Show your child how much you care; come on out and celebrate your child’s endeavors!

USPTO News

We hope that everyone is staying healthy, safe, and enjoying time with your loved ones.

During this time we are all having to make hard decisions and adapt to the current situation. In light of this, please see below for important changes for the rest of the year.

The March and April USPTO meetings have been canceled. However, we are still going forward with accepting nominations for the 2020–2021 year. If you are interested in running for open positions (president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer) we are asking that you submit a short bio to us via email by March 30. Please be sure to include what position you are running for. These bios will be available for everyone to view before the April elections. We are looking into a way for voting to be held online.

Spring grants are still happening with extended deadlines. You can submit grant applications to the USPTO via Google drive or email. We will forward these to Dr. Gerner for her approval, in lieu of her physical signature. We will then hold a review committee meeting.

The spring carnival has been canceled. We are looking into ways to make sure that our teachers still have a way to earn funds for their classroom/clubs/groups.

We want to thank all of our teachers and staff who are working so hard to make sure our students are staying connected, fed, and loved during this time. None of us know what the next few weeks will look like (or even the next few days), but we will get through this together.

Contribute your Time and Talents

We achieve our mission through fundraising efforts, and we need your help to pull it off. All it takes is 1–2 hours of your time—we promise! More volunteers means more support for our school community. Get in on all the action by volunteering your time to events such as our Fall Fundraiser, Spring Carnival, Scrapbooking Event, and Teacher Appreciation Week. And if you don’t fancy any of that, you can volunteer as a classroom liaison to help us maintain good communication. Did you know that every event you attend or volunteer for earns your child's teacher points towards the end of the year prize?

The USPTO also wants to help you network your business! Promote your business by providing our pre-meeting snacks.
