6th Grade students can participate in the following
Participation Fees
We assess a $75 per sport/activity fee with a family maximum of $600 for the school year. Please pay sport/activity fees when the sport occurs (fall sports in the fall, spring sports in the spring), prior to the first event. The fee is non-refundable after the first competition.
If a student participates in more than one sport/activity in the same season, the student’s family is responsible for paying the participation fee for each.
Concessions
We offer concessions at many of our middle school home sporting events.
If you are a middle or high school student who is interested in volunteering in concessions, please contact Michael Aragon, Middle School Athletics Director, at maragon@universityschools.com. You can earn community service by volunteering.
We use the profits from concessions to help purchase equipment and jerseys for the athletes. We are so appreciative to all our parents for their support of our Bulldogs!
-
Middle school cross country practices will begin on Monday, August 12th, directly following school. (We will practice until 4:45.)

Practices will be from 3:35-4:45 on most days. There will be some exceptions for “long run days” and “short run days.”
-
Athletes will change into running clothes and shoes immediately after their final class and meet Coach Doss on the visitor bleachers just to the west of the middle school.

Marching Band
Marching band is an after-school band for high school band students who are interested in performing at football games and marching band competitions. Students must be enrolled in a high school band to join (symphonic band or wind symphony). Marching band learns the majority of the music and movements at band camp, which happens in August, and all practices are Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The marching band plays at all home football games and separate marching competitions. Marching band is concluded at the end of October! Students are instructed to join the marching band at the beginning of the year. Email Mr. Goering at cgoering@universityschools.com if you have questions.
Pep Band
Pep band is an after-school band for high school band students who are interested in playing at basketball games. This is a spring semester group! Students must be enrolled in a high school band to join (symphonic band or wind symphony). Pep band learns the majority of the music and movements at camp, which happens in January, and all practices are the night of our basketball games. The pep band plays at most home girls and boys basketball games, at assemblies, and at various events around the school. Students may join pep band after the school year has started. Email Mr. Goering at cgoering@universityschools.com if you have questions.
Choir
Students in grades 6–12 may participate in choir without audition and are encouraged to join regardless of experience or ability level. Incoming freshmen and high school ladies new to choir should register for Women's Choir. Students learn about leadership, community, service, and expression through singing and performing together in a nurturing environment. They grow as musicians by studying the theory and history of music while experiencing a wide variety of musical styles from many eras and cultures. Choir offers many performance opportunities throughout the year in the school and community.
