University Schools Lottery
University Schools utilizes an online lottery method to select applicants for any available open seat. We automatically re-enroll students who are currently enrolled unless parents notify us of other arrangements. We will accept online open enrollment applications all year. However, to guarantee inclusion in the first lottery round held in January, we must receive online open enrollment applications by the second Friday in December. The lottery begins in January and continues through September as long as seats are available.
By policy, priority is given to University Schools staff/faculty members’ children and siblings of current University Schools students. We will notify those selected in the lottery by text message and/or email, after which you will have five days to accept the offer.
Registration Requirements
If you are coming from a District 6 school, please be sure to complete the Annual Student Data Update (ASDU) in Infinite Campus. We will request any required documentation for enrollment. If your student is coming from out-of-district, is not currently attending a D6 school or is an incoming Kindergartner, you will need to complete the New Student Registration and the following documents will need to be uploaded:
- Birth certificate
- Current Immunizations
- Physical
If enrolling in high school, final acceptance is contingent upon the successful completion of the 8th grade.
Denial
University Schools may deny enrollment based on misrepresentation or non-disclosure of a material fact on the application, expulsion within the preceding 12 months, graduation from 12th grade from any school, failure to complete the New Student Registration and/or failure to return the required registration paperwork.
Applicant Responsibility
Applicants are responsible for visiting our online open enrollment system (Schoolmint) to update any changes to their application including sibling status, address, and phone numbers. Until chosen by lottery, all online open enrollment applications will remain active and kept in the lottery database until we offer enrollment to the applicants or the parent/guardian requests removal. We determine eligibility for interscholastic athletics in accordance with the rules of the Colorado High School Activities Association. Please note transportation is the responsibility of parents/guardians.
Get Involved/Volunteer

We know you share our passion for students, and volunteering is a fantastic way to get involved. Whether you’re willing to give your time, your talent, or your treasure; University always has an open spot for you. So, jump in and make a difference!
Donate your Time:
University has several parent-run groups and they all need volunteers. If you would like to donate your time, take a look at these organizations:
- USPTO (*University Parent Teacher Organization) is a collaborative group of parents, teachers, and staff working together to support and enhance the educational experience at a school. Through fundraising, organizing events, and volunteering, the PTO helps create a positive and enriched environment for students, promotes school spirit, and fosters strong connections between families and the school community. If you enjoy organizing and running events and fundraisers, this is the group for you. Use this link to sign up.

The Booster Club is a great place for people to get plugged in directly to University Athletics. Each of the opportunities that our athletes enjoy are made possible by the funds that are raised by the Booster Club. Booster fundraisers provide money for uniforms and other apparel, trips and hotels, special events and scholarships. Volunteers are always welcome, so feel free to reach out. uhboosterclub@gmail.com
