Proud of Where We Come From

University Schools just celebrated our 133rd anniversary!
For over a century, we have fostered an educational environment centered on teacher-student interaction.

We are proud of our contributions to education, which include:

First kindergarten in Colorado (1892)
First high school to offer a driver’s education program
First middle school west of the Mississippi
First field-testing site for BSCS Biology and Chemistry Study and pilot of the Houghton Mifflin Reading program.
A model school lunch program
First school in the nation to implement a block schedule
First school to integrate the acoustically handicapped (we continue to stand as a national model in this area)

DNA

We’re excited to introduce you to what we’re calling the “DNA of a Bulldog.” We’ve already revealed pieces of it, but now we’d like to share the whole picture with you. The DNA of a Bulldog is the collection of values and qualities that make up who we are and guide where we're going. The goal of this project is to recognize our rich history and take ownership of how we’re carrying it into the future. We’ve got the legacy, and we’ve got the plan. Now we have the playbook.
