Attendance
If your child will miss school for any reason, please call the respective attendance office before 10:00 a.m. Voice messaging is available after office hours to leave a message at any time.
If your child needs to leave school for an appointment, please call and notify us, or have him/her stop by the attendance office before school with a note from you. Our attendance clerk will provide your child with an early dismissal slip authorizing the teacher to let the student leave class at the designated time. High school students can meet you at a predetermined location or wait for you in the office. Middle school and elementary students should wait in the office.
Upon returning to school, we require all students to report to the main office before going to class. Please keep in mind that although parents report absences, only the school may legally excuse them.
We consider any tardy that is not a result of illness, injury, doctor, or family emergency as unexcused. In case of excessive absences or tardiness, we may require parents to provide documentation.
Students who become ill during the school day must check out through the health office before going home. We will call to notify you if your child is ill. If your child calls you directly, please instruct him/her to go to the health office.

- lunch boxes, water bottles
Valuables are kept in the office or Student Services in both buildings. Please check with the office if your student has lost:
- glasses
- cell phone, electronics
- money

Please remember to put your child's name in his/her jackets and coats! Items with names will be returned to students.

Weather
In the event of severe weather conditions or emergencies; we will announce school closings, delayed openings, or early closings by email, text and social media.
In the event of a delayed start to the school day, we will impose a common start time for all grades (K-12). Students should report to the class they would normally attend at that time.
When district 6 is in session, University Schools will follow the district’s decision about school closure.
When district 6 is not in session and University Schools is in session, University makes the decision about the closure.
