Home of the Bulldogs
We designed our drop-off and pick-up procedures with safety and efficiency in mind. We request your patience during this busy period of the day and ask all drivers to adhere to the following protocols in order to maintain a safe and orderly experience for all. Please check out our arrival and departure instructions/procedures.
If your child will miss school for any reason, please call the respective attendance office before 10:00 a.m. Voice messaging is available after office hours to leave a message at any time.
If your child needs to leave school for an appointment, please call and notify us, or have him/her stop by the attendance office before school with a note from you. Our attendance clerk will provide your child with an early dismissal slip authorizing the teacher to let the student leave class at the designated time. High school students can meet you at a predetermined location or wait for you in the office. Middle school and elementary students should wait in the office.
Upon returning to school, we require all students to report to the main office before going to class. Please keep in mind that although parents report absences, only the school may legally excuse them.
We consider any tardy that is not a result of illness, injury, doctor, or family emergency as unexcused. In case of excessive absences or tardiness, we may require parents to provide documentation.
Students who become ill during the school day must check out through the health office before going home. We will call to notify you if your child is ill. If your child calls you directly, please instruct him/her to go to the health office.

Have your student look in the lost and found area regularly (each building has a lost and found). All items left in lost and found at the end of each month will be donated to a local charity. Common items found include:
Valuables are kept in the office or Student Services in both buildings. Please check with the office if your student has lost:
Please remember to put your child's name in his/her jackets and coats! Items with names will be returned to students.
In the event of severe weather conditions or emergencies; we will announce school closings, delayed openings, or early closings by email, text and social media.
In the event of a delayed start to the school day, we will impose a common start time for all grades (K-12). Students should report to the class they would normally attend at that time.
When district 6 is in session, University Schools will follow the district’s decision about school closure.
When district 6 is not in session and University Schools is in session, University makes the decision about the closure.
High School (Grades 9 – 12):
There are various ways you can help University Schools. Please take a moment to read on our "Get Involved" page about the different ways you can show your support for our school community.
We require that parents transport their children to and from school if they are not of the legal age to drive themselves. We encourage carpooling.
Students have the privilege of parking in the south parking lot at no charge. In order to maintain this privilege, we expect students to drive cautiously in the lot and surrounding neighborhoods and to show respect to the other cars in the lot. To promote safety and security, we require students to provide information about the make and model of the car, the license plate number, proof of insurance, and to present a valid driver’s license. We require all students to register with us, including those who receive a license or decide to drive to school after the commencement of the school year.
