National Honor Society
The University Schools chapter of The National Honor Society (NHS) promotes the traits of leadership, service, character, and scholarship within our school community. We meet 1-2 times a month during lunch to implement service-learning activities throughout the year.
Students are selected for membership based on their Academic Standing, Demonstration of Involvement and Leadership, Service to the Community, Demonstration of Good Moral Character. Membership applications are collected in the spring every year and sophomores and juniors with at least a cumulative 3.5 GPA are welcome to apply. Applications are reviewed by a 5-member Faculty committee that makes all of the membership decisions.
An informational meeting will be held before spring break each year and all students with the minimum GPA requirements will be sent an invitation to the meeting in order to help with the membership application process.
